Language development is accomplished through a wide variety of exercises, which show students how to apply new terms and phrases in many practical contexts. A preliminary presentation of the German vocabulary for human anatomy is included. All of the skill areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening are emphasized.

The courses cover medical terminology, practice in specialist vocabulary and a review of basic grammatical structures.

Students will also learn how to communicate with patients and medical colleagues, how to speak at seminars and medical meetings and how to read and write medical papers. Topic work includes an overview of the German Health Service.
